Fundamentals of Radio is the beginning class of the Radio course and is required to be a completer in Radio.
By the end of the school year, students will become Nationally Certified Radio Operators. This certification will be through the Society of Broadcast Engineers, and will better equip students seeking employment in the radio broadcast industry.
Students will become skilled in the basics of news writing, voicetracking, announcing, engineering, and broadcasting. Students will learn how to read the news, sports, and weather forecast in a professional broadcast style. They will work in groups, write commercials, create slogans, and announce songs over-the-air.
